A will:
- Takes effect at death
- Requires probate
- Names guardians for minor children
A revocable living trust:
- Takes effect during your lifetime
- Can avoid probate if funded properly
- Provides more privacy and control
- Can manage assets if you become incapacitated
Many comprehensive plans include both.
